may thy walk away game be tight af (it’s time to surrender)

How do you surrender? Well, life has taught me that you get dressed in your cutest outfit-  of course- tie up your sneaks and just walk out of the door. Simply said, though understandably, not always simply done. But it can be. Walking is an amazing self and soul care tool, bringing us to the sacred methodology of surrender

Surrender is the ultimate act of letting go. It’s when we’ve reached our fill of a time, place or space and have recognized that our health and happiness has shifted into a new place. Mindfully recognizing when it's time to surrender sometimes requires the physical act of walking- away. Literally placing one foot in front of the other and taking a walk onto a new timeline, into a new vibe, into a new space, into new opportunities and a new mindset.

Walking places us in the world and expands our environment beyond the four walls we become contained within. While walking, we bathe in nature and allow it to ground us. The problems we’re engulfed in steadily become smaller in comparison to the shifted perspectives Mother Nature offers to us. We move the stagnant energy in our bodies by breathing in fresh air. The huge trees and foliage provide hugs to us on our path. The birds singing songs provide music to our ears and the bees pollinating flowers offer us a varied view of life. Through walking, our minds and bodies have an opportunity to come into peace and balance with our soul. We get to practice gratitude as we observe the sun rise or set on our day, to be in awe of something greater than the bullshit we may be carrying. We notice that we only have one job, and it's to just be.

Sometimes we may call a friend or take a walk with our kids, though often, many walks will call for a solo stride. There are journey’s we’ll move through which require us to walk alone, powered by focus and self-determination. We also pack very light, perhaps just our phone, maybe some water, maybe nothing at all- raw dogging that walk. This is metaphoric, yet this is applicable to reality! Walking teaches us that everyone can’t come and we have to leave the baggage behind to smoothly move ahead.

There is generational healing in each step we take. Life deals hands that oftentimes trigger, impact, and sorely hurt us- yet when we decide to surrender to all things beyond our control, we can receive the healing. I honor the lessons and share the wisdom walking (away!) has taught me. I’ve learned how to walk- swiftly, in my cutest Nike trainers, sauntering, in my sexiest heels, snug my warm Uggs and most times sliding well-pedicured toes into my beachy flip flops! If a situation does not work for my highest good, I walk away. I lean deeper into the surrender and open myself up to faith. Resting assured that carrying peace and love within is all that is needed for my journey.

So, when life feels stuck, shift it and everything around you- put on your sneakers and walk to your surrender!
